Fellowship is a mark of distinction that demonstrates your commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and your place as a senior leader in our College community. It enables you to take an influential role in health and to lead and influence change for the benefit of all.

You can become a Fellow if you:

• Meet our eligibility criteria.

Fellowship offers you opportunities to:

• Contribute to College committees and influence policy.​
• Access exclusive events and professional networks.
• Access discounted rates on CPD-accredited courses and conferences.

Lifetime fellowship

• If you’re a long-standing Fellow of the College, you could be eligible for lifetime Fellowship
• For a one-off fee, you’ll retain your existing Fellowship plus join a group of senior Fellows

You can become a lifetime Fellow if you:

• You must be a current Fellow in good standing
• Have been in good standing for at least 10 years
• Be over 60 years old
• Fully retired from clinical practice

Membership signifies a commitment to ongoing professional development and excellence in travel medicine. Members are integral to the College community and benefit from a range of resources designed to support their careers.​

Associate membership is designed for professionals who have completed specific qualifications in travel medicine and are committed to advancing their professional skills and knowledge. Associates gain access to a supportive community and resources tailored to their development.​

You can become an Associate Member if you successfully complete any of the following:

• Diploma in Travel Medicine
• Part A of the Diploma in Expedition and Wilderness Medicine.
• Part A or Part B of the MFTM examination.
• ISTM Certificate in Travel Health™

Associate membership offers you opportunities to:

• Access discounted rates on educational events and symposia.​
• Access awards, scholarships, and networking opportunities.​
• Access comprehensive eLearning and library services.

Affiliate membership is ideal for students, early-career professionals, and others interested in travel medicine who have not yet completed a relevant postgraduate qualification. It provides a strong foundation for developing knowledge, networks, and engagement in the specialty.

Affiliate membership is:

• Open to anyone with an interest in travel medicine who has not yet completed a recognised qualification or examination
• Particularly suitable for students, trainees, or professionals new to the field

Associate membership offers you opportunities to:

• Access discounts on courses, study days, and exam preparation
• Get regular updates on faculty news, guidance, and opportunities
• Access a supportive network to help you progress toward Associate, Member, or Fellow status
