The College acts as the Secretariat of the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examinations Boards in Dental Specialties and is responsible for the professional conduct of the examinations on behalf of the Faculties of Dental Surgery of the:

Diploma of Fellowship

Award of the Diploma of Fellowship in a specific specialty indicates that a candidate has attained the knowledge and experience, as well as satisfied the necessary training programme requirements, to proceed to independent practice as a consultant within their specialty.

To sit Part B of the ISFE in Oral Surgery, you must:

  • Have successfully passed Part A of the ISFE in Oral Surgery
  • Be enrolled in a recognised UK or Irish specialty training programme in Oral Surgery, approved by the General Dental Council (GDC) or the Dental Council of Ireland
  • Have completed the appropriate amount of full-time equivalent specialty training, as outlined in the examination regulations
  • Obtain formal approval from your postgraduate dental dean or training programme director
  • Submit all required documentation and meet the application deadlines set by the Intercollegiate Board

    Finalise your application by submitting secure online payment.
  5. Receive confirmation
    Once your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation email with joining instructions and exam details.
