Part B of the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Dental Public Health is a structured assessment that evaluates your ability to apply specialist knowledge in real-world scenarios. It focuses on clinical judgement, critical analysis, and leadership in the planning and delivery of population-based oral health services, confirming your readiness for independent consultant-level practice.
The College acts as the Secretariat of the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examinations Boards in Dental Specialties and is responsible for the professional conduct of the examinations on behalf of the Faculties of Dental Surgery of the:

Diploma of Fellowship
Award of the Diploma of Fellowship in a specific specialty indicates that a candidate has attained the knowledge and experience, as well as satisfied the necessary training programme requirements, to proceed to independent practice as a consultant within their specialty.
Successful candidates affiliate to one of the partner Colleges once they have met all requirements. Information on affiliation is available from each of the partner Colleges.

To sit Part B of the ISFE in Dental Public Health, you must:
- Have successfully passed Part A of the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination in Dental Public Health
- Hold an approved academic qualification in Dental Public Health
- Have completed:
- A minimum of two years of full-time equivalent specialty training if your academic qualification was obtained before entering the training programme
- A minimum of three years of full-time equivalent specialty training if the academic qualification was gained during the programme
- Receive written confirmation of satisfactory progress from your Training Programme Director
- Submit all required supporting documentation and meet the deadlines set by the Intercollegiate Board
- Booking for the ISFE Dental Public Health exam is managed centrally via the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow.
- When applications open, eligible candidates can submit an application form, supporting documents, and pay the exam fee through the College’s examinations portal.
- Spaces are limited and allocated according to eligibility and capacity, early submission is strongly advised.
