Volunteering Award

This award will enable eligible Members to travel and undertake volunteering opportunities within the health care sector of developing countries.

£2,500 per award, with two awarded annually

Eligibility

Any Fellow or Member of our College at practitioner level i.e. ST5 and above (or equivalent). Affiliates may be included in proposals provided they are adequately supervised by a more senior clinician

Details

This award will enable eligible Members to travel and undertake volunteering opportunities within the health care sector of developing countries.

The successful candidate is expected to volunteer for a minimum period of two weeks and be able to demonstrate a clear and sustainable benefit to the recipient community of their proposed activity. Priority will be given to proposals undertaken in any one of the top 10 priority countries, in terms of spend, as identified by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).

Full amount of award will be paid on approval of application. All applications must be prospective; no award will be made retrospectively. Funds are intended for economy class travel, subsistence and any materials required for the volunteering activity.
