We offer eight scholarships of up to £1,000 to medical students annually to enable you to spend 4-6 weeks studying abroad as part of your elective study within the medical school curriculum. Applicants should be medical students studying in the UK and at least three of the successful applications will be selected from University of Glasgow students.
Awards will be paid on approval of applications. All applications must be prospective; no award will be made retrospectively e.g. if your elective is taking place in 2026, you must submit your application by the closing date of November 2025. This is to ensure all applications are ready for review, which takes place in January annually. If your elective is taking place in 2025, the deadline has passed as these applications will be reviewed in January 2025. You must sign up for our affiliate membership to be eligible to apply for this Award. Please provide your personal ID (PID) number on your application.
